How Do You Holiday?

Written by Monica Prestifilippo

“Wait Santa, you want us to do timing and photography where? I know the North Pole 5K is only a sleigh ride away but….”

After feasting on turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes, the EnMotive team moves onward to the holiday season by partnering with Santa Shuffles all over the US, timing and photographing hundreds of the best Santa’s, Reindeers, Elves and Grinches in the same amount of time it takes Santa to deliver all those gifts. We couldn’t think of a better way to “Ho Ho Ho” our way across the USA!

When the EnMotive team is finished helping Santa, this is how they holiday!

“We order Chinese food the night we put up the Christmas Tree.” – MP

“For the first present (per person) you choose any song you want and you have to dance “Soul Train” style through the hallway holding your wrapped present in front of everyone. If you don’t have music, then you have to dance to your own beat.” – JR

“We put pajamas on, get in the car, get a drive-thru hot chocolate, and drive around the neighborhood looking at all the Christmas lights.” – SJ

“Each family member has a favorite Christmas ornament that they get to put anywhere on the tree.” KL

“Advent Calendar – for sure!!!” KC

“With small kids, the Elf on the Shelf is a must. It’s hard to be creative year after year, but when you see the kids reaction each morning, it’s worth it.” AS

“A Christmas movie marathon is our favorite.” MC

“We attempt to go Christmas Caroling. After a few houses, we always end up going straight back home.” MD

“We are fortunate to live in Chicago. During the Christmas season we go to the Christkindlmarket and skate at the ribbon.” AS

“The Holiday Zoo lights are the best. Even as the kids get older, they still love it.” AV

“We always go to the High School choir concert. It’s amazing to see the talent of the students. It’s beautiful.” EL

“Pictures with Santa! There’s no missing that!” LA

“The Nutcracker is our annual tradition. It’s fun to get all dressed up and go out for dinner and a show. Makes the season extra special.” CT

“Baking Christmas cookies with my sister. Every year we go out to dinner to figure out which cookies we will be making and take a day to bake. Going to dinner is the easy part.” CK
